Collection: Breakout Boards

Breakout boards are used to facilitate the use of electronic components that have a different pin configuration than that of a prototype board, such as surface mount technology (SMT) components. These boards convert the pins of a component (microcontroller, sensor, or chip) to a standard format, such as a 2.54 mm (0.1") header, so that they can be easily connected to development boards (breadboards) without complex soldering. They are also useful in educational electronics projects, for controlling CNC machines, or for making electrical connections between different parts of a project.
