Solder wick ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solder_wick ) is made up of copper wires twisted together. Flux is usually added to help the solder flow from where it's not supposed to be (the bridge) to the wick. Therefore, solder wick is sometimes called desoldering braid. Yes, you really can solder anything, and solder wick is a big part of the process.

We tried many cheaper solder wicks before finding this supplier. This is a cheaper version of the wick we used. We may start using it. It works very well and the price is incredible.

This wick measures 1.5mm wide and 1.5 meters long.
