Description:
The LilyPad Simple is now even simpler! We've updated the Simple board to create the LilyPad USB, replacing the classic ATMega328 with the new ATMega32U4. This not only means it runs a newer, more advanced bootloader, but it also eliminates the need for an FTDI Basic. The only additional component you need to program the LilyPad USB is a micro-USB cable, as the new IC has built-in USB support. The LilyPad USB is also officially supported in the Arduino IDE as of version 1.0.2!
Like the LilyPad Simple, this board runs at 3.3V and includes a JST connector for directly plugging in a Li-Po battery and an onboard power switch to turn it off when not needed. These boards were designed to simplify your next e-textile project by offering more workspace and eliminating the need to integrate an external power supply. The LiPo battery recharges directly on the board - no special external chargers required!
LilyPad is a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and designed in collaboration with SparkFun. Each LilyPad features large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. And they're washable!
