2W-025-08 (12VDC) Electric Solenoid Valve Water - 12VDC - (AD6046)

Description:

Control fluid flow using electron flow! This liquid valve would make a great addition to your gardening, aquarium, or robotic pool project. This is a ¼ inch solenoid valve. The valve is Normally Closed (N.C.). When supplied with 12VDC to the two terminals, the valve opens and water can flow. Unlike the plastic solenoid valve, this one does not have a gasket, so there is no minimum pressure requirement.

We tested the solenoid at various DC voltages and found that we could actuate it with 6VDC (although it was a bit slower to open). We suggest a TIP120 or N-Channel power FET with a 1N4001 diode, connected to a microcontroller pin. For a power supply, a 12V 5A or greater power adapter will do the job.
