Description:

Is your house haunted? Or rather, are you convinced your house is haunted but have never been able to prove it because you've never had a camera that integrates with your Raspberry Pi Zero but is small enough that the ghosts won't notice?

Fortunately, the Zero Spy Camera for Raspberry Pi Zero is smaller than a thumbnail, yet still has high enough resolution to see people, ghosts, or whatever else you're looking for. Roughly the size of a cell phone camera, the module is just 8.6mm x 8.6mm, and runs with just a 2" cable, so you can create an extra-compact and stealthy little spy camera.

Like the Raspberry Pi Camera Board, it connects to your Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 or Zero W via the small socket on the edge of the board closest to the "PWR in" port. This interface uses the dedicated CSI interface, which was specifically designed for interfacing with cameras. The CSI bus is capable of extremely high data rates and exclusively carries pixel data. The Raspberry Pi Zero is NOT INCLUDED.

The camera is connected to the Pi's BCM2835 processor via the CSI bus, a higher-bandwidth link that carries pixel data from the camera to the processor. This bus travels along the ribbon cable that connects the camera board to the Pi. The ribbon cables are compatible with both the Pi Zero v1.3 and Pi Zero W.

The sensor itself has a native resolution of 5 megapixels and has an integrated fixed-focus lens. It has similar specifications to the original Pi Camera, but isn't as high-resolution as the new Pi Camera v2!
