Description:

The STR-W6753 is a quasi-resonant topology IC designed for SMPS applications. It features lower EMI noise characteristics than conventional PWM solutions, especially at frequencies above 2 MHz. Additionally, it incorporates a soft switching mode that activates the internal MOSFET at a voltage close to zero (minimum VDS point) by resonating the primary inductance and a resonant capacitor. The package is a molded TO-220 containing the controller chip (MIC) and the MOSFET, allowing for an output power of up to 58 W with universal input or 120 W with a 230 VAC input. The minimum skip mode skips the first VDS minimum and activates the MOSFET at the second minimum point to minimize the increase in operating frequency with light output loads, thereby improving system efficiency across the entire load range. It has two standby modes to reduce input power under very light load conditions. The first mode is automatic standby mode, which is activated internally by periodic sensing, and the second is a manual standby mode, which is executed by limiting the secondary output. In general applications, manual standby mode further reduces input power compared to automatic standby mode.
