This is the US-100 ultrasonic ranging sensor. This cost-effective sensor provides non-contact measurement functionality from 2 cm to 400 cm with a ranging accuracy of up to 3 mm. Each US-100 module includes an ultrasonic transmitter, a receiver, and a control circuit.

There are only five pins you need to worry about on the US-100 : VCC (Power), Trig (Trigger), Echo (Receive), and two GND (Ground) pins. You'll find this sensor very easy to set up and use for your next range-finding project!

The US-100 operates on the principle of reflective echo. A host microcontroller determines the distance by activating the US-100 module and then measuring the echo time indicated by the sensor's pulse width output.

Unlike other ultrasonic ranging sensors, the US-100 has a built-in temperature sensor for accurate ranging even in varying ambient temperatures. Selectable via a jumper, this sensor can also operate in UART mode (9600 MHz frequency band) or GPIO mode, making it more convenient for your applications.
