As the display datasheet dictates, each segment should be current limited to 20mA. To use this display, you will need a 12V supply and current limiting resistors on each segment. Your power supply should be rated at a minimum of 160mA for each digit in your overall display. For instance, a 4 digit display will work nicely with a 12V/1A supply.
