Description:
USB Host Shield is an inexpensive add-on board for the Arduino development platform. The shield provides a USB Host interface, allowing full and low-speed communication with USB devices: keyboards, mice, joysticks, MIDI, digital cameras, Bluetooth and many others.
This USB Host Shield board contains all the necessary digital logic and circuitry to implement a USB host controller for peripherals with the Arduino. This means that you could use your Arduino to interact with and control any USB slave device.
A four-wire serial interface is used to communicate with the host controller chip, so the shield connects to the Arduino's hardware via the SPI pins (D10-13) to the MAX3421E. A female Type A USB connector is connected to the IC, and also supplies 5V as any normal USB port would.
Features:
- Based on the MAX3421 integrated circuit.
- Female Type A USB connector.
- Provides power for the slave device.
- 3 or 4-wire SPI interface.
- It is possible to work with Android ADK with this shield.
- Converts your Arduino Mega into an Android ADK compatible device.
