IR Obstacle Sensor Breakout Board - (AD33838)

Description:

This sensor module has a pair of infrared transmitter and receiver LEDs. The infrared LED emits at a certain frequency; when the detection direction encounters an obstacle (reflective surface), the infrared receiver LED, after processing by the comparator circuit, will light up along with the LED indicator. At the same time, the signal output interface will activate the digital signal (a HIGH level signal). The detection distance can be adjusted via the potentiometer knob, with an effective range of 2 to 30 cm, and a working voltage of 3.3V to 5V. The sensor's detection range can be adjusted via the potentiometer, and it features low interference, easy assembly, and ease of use, making it widely applicable for obstacle prevention, obstacle avoidance, counting, and black and white line tracking.

Module parameters:

• Digital Output (DO): When the module detects an obstacle in front of the signal, the green LED indicator on the circuit board will turn off, and at the same time, the output signal will be activated (Active HIGH on DO). The module detects from 2 to 30 cm, with a detection angle of 35°. The test distance can be adjusted via the potentiometer; when the potentiometer is turned clockwise, the detection distance decreases, and when turned counterclockwise, the detection distance increases.
• Sensors use active infrared reflection detection; therefore, the reflectivity and shape of the target are key to the detection range. White represents the maximum detection range, and black represents the minimum.
• The sensor module's DO output pins can be connected directly to a microcontroller, and it can also control a 5V relay directly. Connection mode: VCC: 3.3 to 5 VDC; GND: 0V; DO: Digital output.
• The comparator used is the LM393, which provides excellent operational stability.
• It can be powered by 3V to 5V DC. It has a red LED that indicates whether the module is powered on or off.
• It features a 3mm screw hole, making it easy to install.
