Description:
During circuit signal transmission, voltage signals tend to weaken as distance increases. To mitigate this signal degradation, current transmission is employed, which offers greater resistance. This module specifically facilitates the termination of signal transmission in the form of current, subsequently converting the signal to a voltage signal for detection by a single-chip system. The current input is versatile, supporting both 4-20 mA and 0-20 mA, while the voltage output offers a range of options including 0-3.3 V, 0-5 V, and 0-10 V. The board's output voltage range can be conveniently configured to meet specific requirements by adjusting jumpers. This design ensures optimal signal integrity and adaptability in various applications.
Characteristics:
- Input signal: 0-20mA or 4-20mA
- Output range: 0-3.3V, 0-5V and 0-10V
- Power input range: 7-36V
Operating mode:
- At minimum input current (0 mA or 4 mA), turn the ZERO potentiometer to set the desired output voltage corresponding to the set zero current. Clockwise rotation increases the output voltage.
- 0-3.3V, 0-5V and 0-10V voltage range options (set via jumpers)
- When the current output is at maximum (20mA), adjust the SPAN potentiometer to set the maximum output voltage
- At a maximum current of 20 mA, rotating the SPAN variable resistor selects the maximum value within the range determined by the jumpers. Clockwise rotation increases the output voltage.
- It is not recommended to set 0 Volts with a minimum current of 4 mA, since in this case the microcontroller will not be able to determine if the cable to the sensor is broken or actually shows the minimum values.
- After power on, the D2 indicator should be on, if not, check the wiring.
Bridge Configuration:
- ON: The jumper connects two pins of the bridge - bridge shorted
- OFF: Two jumper pins without the jumper - jumper removed
To accurately adjust the 4-20mA current to voltage converter, it is necessary to select the values of two potentiometers: ZERO and SPAN, corresponding to the zero and maximum current values at the input.
