Description:

The L7815 is a 3-terminal positive regulator available in various packages: TO-220, TO-220FP, TO-220FM, TO-3, and D2PAK, and with several output voltages. These regulators can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with a single point of regulation. Each type employs internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe operating area protection, making it ideally indestructible; if provided with an adequate heat sink. These can deliver approximately 1.5A of output current.
