Description:
This sensor module is sensitive to ambient light, it has a photocell (LDR), depending on the light exposure so the voltage at the input of the comparator circuit will vary, after processing the green activation LED will light up, at the same time the digital output signal D0 (a LOW level signal) will be activated. You can adjust the detection sensitivity through the potentiometer knob, the working voltage is 3.3V to 5V.
Module parameters:
- 1. Digital Output (DO): When the module detects a high light intensity, the green LED indicator on the circuit board will remain off, at that moment the output signal is deactivated with a HIGH state (Voltage in DO approximate to VCC). On the other hand, when the module detects a low light intensity, the green LED indicator on the module will light up, at that moment the output signal will be activated with a LOW state (Voltage in DO approximate to 0V). With respect to the potentiometer, when it turns clockwise, it will need more light to keep the module off; on the contrary, when the potentiometer turns counterclockwise, with less light the module will be off. Seen another way, with counterclockwise rotation you will need to shade closer to the photocell to activate the module, and with clockwise rotation, the shading can be further from the photocell to activate the module.
- 2. Analog Output (AO): The darker the light, the higher the voltage; the voltage varies proportionally to the shading applied to the photocell. From another perspective, at high light intensity, A0 is very close to 0V, and at low or zero light intensity, A0 is very close to 4.6V.
- 3. The sensor module output pins DO and AO can be directly connected to the microcontroller, also can control a 5v relay directly. Connection mode: VCC: 3.3 to 5V DC; GND: 0V; DO: Digital output; AO: Analog output.
- 4. The comparator used is the LM393 which has great working stability.
- 5. It can be powered by 3 and 5 VDC. It has a red LED, which indicates whether the module is on or off.
- 6. It has a 3mm screw hole, making it easy to install.
