Description:
This sensor module is sensitive to ambient light, it has a photocell (LDR), depending on the light exposure the voltage at the input of the comparator circuit will vary, after processing the green activation LED will light up, at the same time the digital output signal D0 (a LOW level signal) will be activated. You can adjust the detection sensitivity using the potentiometer knob, the working voltage is 3.3V to 5V.
Module parameters:
- 1. Digital Output (DO): When the module detects high light intensity, the green LED indicator on the circuit board will remain off, at that moment the output signal is deactivated with a HIGH state (Voltage at DO approximately VCC). On the other hand, when the module detects low light intensity, the green LED indicator on the module will light up, at that moment the output signal will be activated with a LOW state (Voltage at DO approximately 0V). Regarding the potentiometer, when it turns clockwise, it will need more light to keep the module off; on the contrary, when the potentiometer turns counter-clockwise, with less light the module will be off. In other words, with counter-clockwise rotation, you will need to shade the photocell closer to activate the module, and with clockwise rotation, the shading can be further away from the photocell to activate the module.
- 2. Analog Output (AO): The darker it is, the higher the voltage; the voltage varies proportionally to the shading applied to the photocell. From another point of view, at high light intensity, A0 is very close to 0V, and with low or no light intensity, A0 is very close to 4.6V.
- 3. The output pins of the DO and AO sensor module can be directly connected to the microcontroller, it can also directly control a 5V relay. Connection mode: VCC: 3.3 to 5 VDC; GND: 0V; DO: Digital output; AO: Analog output.
- 4. The comparator used is the LM393 which has great working stability.
- 5. It can be powered with 3 and 5 VDC. It has a Red LED, which indicates whether the module is on or off.
- 6. It has 3mm screw holes, making it easy to install.
