Description:
The LM3915 is a monolithic integrated circuit that senses analog voltage levels and controls 10 LEDs. A single pin changes the display from a dot to a bar graph. The current driving the LEDs is regulated and programmable, eliminating the need for resistors. This feature allows the entire system to operate on less than 3V.
This circuit contains its own adjustable reference and a very accurate 10-step voltage divider. The low bias current to ground at the input buffer accepts signals connected directly to ground, or negative and oscillating voltages, and does not require protection against positive or negative 35V inputs. The buffer controls 10 individual comparators referenced with the precision of the divider.
