Infrared Emitters and Detectors [SEN-00241] - (AD21857)

Description:

Side-looking infrared emitters and detectors. These simple devices operate at 940 nm and are ideal for generic infrared systems, such as remote control and non-contact object detection. Using a simple analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in any microcontroller allows variable detector readings. The emitter is driven up to 50 mA with a current-limiting resistor, as in any LED device. The detector is an NPN transistor biased by the incoming infrared light.
