Description:

The Raspberry Pi is a wonderful small computer, but it's not great at controlling DC servo motors. These motors require very specific, repetitive timing pulses to set their position. Instead of asking the Pi's Linux kernel to send these signals, install this handy HAT! It allows you to control 16 servos with perfect timing. It can also perform PWM up to 1.6 kHz with 12-bit accuracy, all in completely free mode.

For use with Raspberry Pi Model Zero, A+, B+, Pi 2 or Pi 3 (any Pi with a 2x20 connector) can be used with Model A or B if a tall 2x13 header is used instead of the included 2x20.

Adafruit's 16-channel 12-bit PWM/Servo HAT controls up to 16 servos or PWM outputs via I²C with only 2 pins. The integrated PWM controller controls all 16 channels simultaneously without needing to process the Raspberry Pi. Plus, you can stack up to 62 to control up to 992 servos, all with the same 2 pins!

Works with any servo that can be powered at 5V and accept 3.3V logic level signals.

Best of all, we even have a Python library you can use, so you'll be ready to go instantly and bring your robotic creation to life. The Adafruit PWM/Servo HAT is the perfect solution for any project requiring many servos or PWM outputs. Check out our detailed tutorial for much more information, including diagrams, schematics, installation instructions and more.

Each order includes one servo HAT, one 2-pin terminal block, four 3x4 headers, and one 2x20 female header. You'll need to do some light through-hole soldering to attach the headers to the HAT's circuit board, but it's easy to do with basic tools like a soldering iron and resin core electronic solder. If you want to stack multiple HATs on a Pi, you can also get a stackable 2x20 header and a set of 3x4 right-angle headers that need to be soldered on.

Please note! This kit does not include Raspberry Pi, servos or the necessary 5V power supply.
