Description:

The SN54/74LS192 is a BCD (8421) Up/Down Decade Counter, and the SN54/74LS193 is a MODULO-16 Up/Down Binary Counter. Separate up and down count clocks are utilized and in both counting modes the circuits operate synchronously. The outputs change state synchronously with the low-to-high transitions of the clock inputs. Separate Up and Down outputs are provided, which are used as the clocks for subsequent stages without additional logic, thereby simplifying the design of multistage counters. Individual preset inputs allow the circuits to be used as programmable counters. Both the Parallel Load (PL) and the Master Reset (MR) inputs override the clocks asynchronously.
