TL431AC Precision Shunt Regulator - (AD1740)

Description:

It is a 3-terminal adjustable shunt regulator with specified thermal stability. The output voltage can be set to any value between the reference value (approximately 2.5V) and 36V, with two external resistors. These devices have a typical output impedance of 0.2 ohms. The active output circuitry provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making these devices an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in many applications.
