Description:
The DHT11 is a temperature and humidity sensor with a calibrated digital signal output. In this example, the DHT11 is used to print the temperature in degrees Celsius and the humidity of the monitored environment to the serial port.
Necessary hardware
- Arduino board
- DHT11 Sensor
- Cables
- Breadboard
- 1 x 4.7 kΩ resistor
Circuit:
The DHT11 sensor has four pins. Connect the first pin on the left of the sensor ('VCC') to 5 V on the board, the second pin ('Data') to digital pin 3, and the fourth pin ('GND') to ground. If the connection cable is less than 20 meters long, a 5 kΩ pull-up resistor is recommended between the second pin of the sensor and 5 V.
