Description:
This microSD adapter isn't just a simple breakout board; it goes one step further: it's designed for ease of use.
- The integrated 5V to 3V regulator provides 150mA for power-hungry cards.
- The 3V level shifting allows for easy use in 3V or 5V systems.
- It uses a proper level shifting chip, rather than resistors—less hassle and faster read/write access.
- Use 3 or 4 digital pins to read and write over 2GB of storage!
- The activity LED lights up when reading or writing to the SD card.
- Four #2 mounting holes.
- The push-push connector allows for inserting and extracting the card slightly above the edge of the printed circuit board (PCB).
- Comes with a 0.1" header (unattached) so you can plug it into a breadboard or use wires, as you prefer.
- Tested and assembled at the Adafruit factory.
- Works perfectly with Arduino, with lots of example code and wiring diagrams.
To use with an Arduino, connect GND to ground, 5V to 5V, CLK to pin 13, DO to pin 12, DI to pin 11, and CS to pin 10. Then, you can use the Arduino IDE's SD library, which supports FAT and FAT32 SD cards. For more information on how to get started, see our detailed tutorial explaining microSD cards, wiring, and how to use this breakout board with an Arduino.
