Description:
The ACS712 Breakout is a high-precision board that uses the ACS712 for moderate AC and DC current sensing applications. The ACS712 sensor uses a Hall effect sensor to output a voltage relative to the current flowing through the IP+ and IP- pins (screw terminal block) on the board. The advantage of using a Hall effect sensor, specifically, is that the circuit being sensed and the circuit reading the sensor are electrically isolated, meaning that even though your Arduino is running on 5V, the sensed circuit can operate on higher DC or AC voltages.
The current sensor board measures DC and AC currents up to 30A , has complete electrical isolation from the measured and sensed circuits and has a base sensitivity of 66mV/A .
Characteristics:
- ACS712ELC-05B Current Sensor
- Power indicator
- 2 power pins
- The module can measure positive and negative current (5A), the analog output corresponds to 185mV/A
- Detection for absence of current flow, the voltage output is VCC/2
- PCB Size: 28 x 13mm
