4000mAh Lithium Ion Battery Pack - 3.7V - (AD12601)

Description:

Need a large battery for your project? This lithium-ion pack is 2 x 2000mAh cells balanced for a total capacity of 4000mAh! The cells are connected in parallel and spot welded to a protection circuit that offers over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current protection.

Each cell can provide 1A of current for approximately 4 hours, meaning all cells together can provide a maximum current of a little over 1.5 amps. Note that these batteries are not designed to sustain such high loads; it is suggested to keep any constant current draw below 1A.

The packs come with color-coded wires, and now come with a 2-pin JST cable attached for use with our chargers! Because they have a genuine JST connector, not a knock-off. The wires are rated for 2A so if you use them, keep that in mind.

The included protection circuit prevents the battery voltage from going too high (overcharging) or too low (over-discharging), meaning the battery disconnects when it is completely dead at 2.5V. However, even with this protection, it is very important that you only use a constant voltage, use a constant current Li-Ion / LiPoly charger to recharge them at a rate of 0.5C (2.2A) or less.

Like most lithium-ion packs, the batteries we sell do not have thermistors; this is why we recommend charging at 0.25C or even less, 1A maximum in this case. Of course, you can charge at a lower rate - it will just take a little longer to charge.

Additional safety precautions: Do not use a NiMH / NiCad / lead-acid battery charger! Also, do not abuse these batteries, do not short circuit, do not bend, crush, or puncture. Never charge or use unattended. Always inspect batteries and surrounding circuits constantly for any damage, loose wires, or the possibility of short circuits. As with all lithium-ion polymer batteries and with any power source, they should be used by experts who are comfortable working with power sources.
