Description:

Each of these monolithic counters contains four master-slave flip-flops and additional gates to provide a divide-by-two counter and a three-state binary counter, whose cycle duration is a divide-by-five count for the 'LS90 and eight for the 'LS93. All of these counters have a gated zero reset for the LS90 and also a gated nine set input for use in BCD complement. To use their maximum count length (decade or four-bit binary). Input B is connected to output Qa. The input counting pulses are applied to input A and the outputs are described in the corresponding truth table. A symmetrical divide-by-ten count can be obtained from the 'LS90 counters by connecting output Qd to input A and applying the input count to input B, which gives a divide-by-ten with a square wave at the Qa output.
