Collection: Passive Components
A passive component, or passive device, is an electronic component that can only receive energy, which it can dissipate, absorb, or store in an electric or magnetic field. Passive components do not require any independent electrical energy to operate. Passive devices cannot control current through another electrical signal. There are several types of passive components: resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transformers.
