Potentiometers

A potentiometer is an electronic device. It is one of the two uses of the mechanical variable resistor (with a slider and at least three terminals). When the user manipulates it, a fraction of the total potential difference is obtained between the center terminal (slider) and one of the ends; it behaves like a voltage divider.
